Fresh, minimally processed food is always better and provides more nutrients needed for health and longevity. But what if you can only feed kibble? Studies show that swapping even 20% of kibble for fresh foods can have a significant impact on the health of your pet.
What should you add? Kibble usually low in animal protein so adding more is always a great choice: raw or cooked meat, eggs, cottage cheese, canned sardines or salmon. Raw or steamed veggies, berries and fruit will add vitamins and antioxidants to your dog's diet. Cats are obligate carnivores so limit additions to protein only.
